Visualising critical controls to strengthen learning at the frontline for a global miner
A global mining business sought to strengthen learning and engagement around its fatal risk management program, with a particular focus on improving frontline understanding of critical controls and their performance requirements across both surface and underground operations.
Support was provided to develop a suite of learning resources centred on new and original visual assets. This included the creation of detailed illustrations depicting surface and underground workers interacting with critical controls in realistic operational contexts, helping to bridge the gap between written requirements and how controls are applied in practice.
These visual assets were then used to design, develop, and digitise a range of supporting materials, including visual standards, posters, and toolbox talk resources. The materials were deployed across the business to support consistent engagement with frontline workers, make critical controls more visible and easier to understand, and clearly communicate key performance requirements in a format that could be quickly interpreted at the point of work.
