Design, development and implementation of critical risk program for a national public service provider

A major provider of essential public services required a consistent and operationally grounded approach to managing its most significant health and safety risks across the Asia-Pacific region.

Bluestone HSE was engaged to design and implement a critical risk management program that met the diverse needs of the multi-disciplinary business units within the group. Bluestone facilitated workshops with subject matter experts, health and safety managers and operational representatives to understand the business context and the work of each business unit. A collaborative approach to developing the suite of twelve critical risk safety standards was adopted, including regular workshops to brain storm requirements and review progress throughout the process. The safety standards were developed to highlight the identified critical controls for each critical risk area, clearly identifying ‘Go - No Go’ areas.

To support the launch and ongoing implementation of the critical risk program, structured training packages were developed using a train-the-trainer model, supported by posters and a mobile app to provide accessible, point-of-work references that reinforced critical control awareness and verification.
