Delivering a frontline supervisor leadership development program across multiple mine sites

A large mining business sought to strengthen leadership capability at the frontline supervisor level, recognising the critical role supervisors play in shaping day-to-day safety, productivity, and team outcomes.

A series of highly interactive leadership workshops were facilitated, with more than 40 workshops delivered across the business to date. Participants were predominantly frontline supervisors, and the workshops were deliberately structured to suit supervisors who do not typically spend extended periods in classroom-based training. Sessions incorporated frequent interaction, practical exercises, and facilitated discussions to maintain attention and relevance.

Each workshop was delivered over two days with approximately 16 participants per session, enabling meaningful discussion and peer learning. The overall program comprised three separate two-day workshops, allowing concepts to be introduced, reinforced, and progressively developed over time. This approach supported sustained learning, practical application between sessions, and stronger leadership capability at the frontline.

This program is continuing to be delivered in 2026.
