This week I teamed up with Anthony Deakin to deliver a critical risk strategic planning workshop for a client with operations throughout Tasmania.

We have supported this client to design and roll out their critical risk management system over the past 18 months. The goal of this session was to agree a road map for the next 2 years, including:

▶️ Reviewing data to identify and address repeat non-conformances ("reds") associated with common critical controls
▶️ Continuing to operationalise the existing CRM tools and processes, such as leader verifications of critical controls
▶️ Introducing frontline worker critical control checks
▶️ Continuing to train supervisors on proactively involving their teams in discussions about critical risks during prestart meetings
▶️ Commencing cascaded coaching to uplift capability of frontline leaders
▶️ Enhancing the supporting technology, including ability to get real-time data on risk controls.

Those involved were a diverse group, including operational GMs, leaders and supervisors from different regions, capability and development, health and safety, and communications.

At the end of the session we had agreed a road map with timeframes for roll-out and had the team energised to continue on the critical risk journey for the next few years.
