Independent environmental compliance audit for a Queensland open-cut mine

An open-cut coal mining operation based in Queensland required an independent review of its environmental compliance and site-based environmental management practices.

Bluestone HSE conducted a comprehensive environmental compliance audit involving multiple days on site undertaking inspections and engaging with site leadership, environmental specialists, and operational personnel. Performance was assessed against the site’s Environmental Protection Licence and other regulatory obligations and specific client requirements relating to environmental management and rehabilitation.

A formal close-out meeting and senior leadership briefings were conducted to discuss findings, recommendations and any priority actions.

Bluestone HSE has been re-engaged on three separate occasions to undertake this work, reflecting continued confidence in the value, objectivity and robustness of the audit process.
