Developing a suite of lean, practical environmental standards for a national energy infrastructure owner
A national energy infrastructure business required a consistent, group-wide approach to managing environmental risk across diverse assets and regulatory jurisdictions.
Bluestone HSE was engaged to design and develop a suite of 10 Environmental Standards, commencing with a pilot standard to test the process, structure, governance, and usability. Following a successful proof of concept, the broader program was rolled out through extensive consultation with multi-disciplinary teams via facilitated workshops for each standard.
Prior to drafting, detailed regulatory assessments were completed for each Australian jurisdiction using interactive regulatory mapping to reconcile legislative requirements. The resulting standards captured all material environmental risks and provided a clear, consistent framework for environmental management across the Group.
